Functional Training Expedition 2023

Functional Training Expedition is a 2-day seminar with a combination of theoretical and practical courses, specifically designed for fitness professionals, trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, pilates instructors, rehabilitation experts and physiotherapists with some of the top speakers in the fitness industry.

FTE2023 will take place at European University Cyprus, on 1-2 April 2023. Participants will get a certificate of attendance according to their registration.

Performance Strength Coach

Performance Strength Coach seminar is a seminar that focuses on training and coaching techniques for improving physical performance in athletes and fitness enthusiasts. This seminar will cover topics such as strength and conditioning, injury prevention, and sport-specific training. It is be led by experienced strength coaches, trainers, and experts in the field, and includes a combination of lectures, hands-on demonstrations, and interactive sessions.

MK Pilates Academy

Michael King has been teaching Pilates for 40 years and was trained traditionally but has created his unique method by taking the latest evidence-based research and applying it to the Pilates technique. Using the original goals of the method he believes the technique must be adapted to ‘best fit’ the needs of the individual client or class participants whether working with the Matwork or Equipment repertoires. Michael’s strong belief is that we must see the technique as a training method to compliment other modes of fitness and rehabilitation tools without having to compromise on any of the stated goals of Joseph Pilates himself.

Covid-19 update: Seminar will take place as planned. If it gets cancelled/postponed due to covid-19, we will fully refund all the participants. Please note that we can only allow a limited number of participants.

EXPEDITION MOVEMENT & PERFORMANCE is designed for trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, personal trainers and fitness professionals who want to expand their knowledge in functional Training, neurokinetic training, sports-specific performance and movement optimization.

EXPEDITION PREVENTION & REHABILITATION is ideal for rehabilitation experts, physiotherapists, recovery specialists and trainers who specialize in rehabilitation / recovery who want to upgrade their knowledge in functional rehabilitation, neurokinetic therapy, fascia training and injury prevention.

EXPEDITION PILATES & POSTURE  is ideal for pilates instructors who want to improve their understanding and technique of the Pilates method and stay up-to-date on the latest developments and trend. All education hours of this module will count towards the pilates diploma offered by MK Pilates Academy.

Chris Gamperl – Germany

Chris Gamperl is a German strength and conditioning coach and athletic trainer, specialized in sports performance development. As a teacher he works for Perform Better Europe, instructing the Functional Movement Screening (FMS) and the Certified Functional Trainer (CFT). Read more.. After coaching professional athletes all over Europe (e.g. NLA Switzerland (professional hockey), HLA Austria (Austrian handball champion 2012/2013, 2011/2012) etc. he worked as a strength and conditioning coach for NCAA division I College Florida Atlantic in Miami, FL, USA for American Football, Baseball (Top 25), Basketball and Track and Field. As a docent, he worked for the sports science department for the Technical University in Munich, Germany and taught a variety of sports performance related topics. Chris Gamperl is also the Head Performance Consultant at Dynamo Kiev and the former Performance Coach at Bayern Munich Women's team.

Nils Doese – Germany

Nils Doese is a Munich based osteopath and physical therapist that specializes in Manual Medicine & Neuro Kinetic and Neuro Athletic Performance and Rehabilitation by performing an extensive analysis of the posture and neurological assessment of specific movement patterns. His methodology consists of both classic and modern diagnostic and therapeutic procedures from sports medicine and physiotherapy, osteopathy, naturopathy and he also utilizes taping, neural therapy, ear acupuncture and fascia therapy. He is an expert in developing precise therapy plans and training concepts that include the entire body (including processing in the brain) and is understood by the patient which promises an optimal recovery process. Dr. Anthony Blubello – USA

Anthony Blubello is a Physical Therapist who graduated with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Arcadia University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Blubello went on for additional training and became a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy. Read more.. Currently, he works as a private contractor at an Air Force base near Venice, Italy. He works exclusively with a special operations force squadron on the base. Before becoming a Physical Therapist, Dr. Blubello was a strength coach who worked with High School and College athletes. He utilizes the principles of performance training on a daily basis to create robust treatment programs for the tactical athletes he treats. Dr. Blubello’s caseload varies from retuning patients from ACL injuries to treating patients post-concussion, as well as treating cases with back, neck, shoulder and knee pain.

Chrysa holds a BSc in Physiotherapy, an MSc in Manual Therapy and Women’s Health from the University of Sheffield, is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, and a member of the Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy. She completed her Masters in the UK at the University of Sheffield and the University of Bradford and worked in London for 6 years in the private sector and the NHS as a senior physiotherapist specializing in women's health and musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
